Session Terms & Conditions

Terms you agree to when requesting or hosting a session on SongStreet

By requesting or participating in a session through SongStreet, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

1. Session Scope & Deliverables

  • No Guarantee of Completion: A session does not guarantee a finished song, recording, or any specific deliverable. Sessions are collaborative working periods where participants work together on musical content.
  • Time-Based Service: Sessions are sold based on time commitment. The creative output may vary depending on the collaborative process and artistic direction.

2. Intellectual Property & Rights

  • Equal Split Agreement: For anything produced or based on the work created during the session, the creator (requester) agrees to split 50% of the writing and publishing rights with the host, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing prior to the session.
  • Co-Writing Credits: All participants who contribute creatively to the session are entitled to appropriate songwriting credits as determined by their level of contribution.
  • Alternative Arrangements: Participants may negotiate different split arrangements before the session begins. Any alternative agreements should be documented in writing.

3. Payment & Cancellation

  • Payment Authorization: By requesting a session, you authorize payment for the session rate displayed at the time of booking.
  • Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled session time may be eligible for a refund. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable.
  • Host Cancellation: If the host cancels a confirmed session, you will receive a full refund.

4. Professional Conduct

  • Respectful Collaboration: All participants agree to maintain professional and respectful conduct during sessions.
  • Punctuality: Participants are expected to join sessions on time. Late arrivals do not extend the session end time unless otherwise agreed upon.
  • Preparation: Participants should come prepared with any materials, ideas, or resources discussed prior to the session.

5. Confidentiality & Content Usage

  • Session Privacy: Content created or discussed during sessions should not be shared publicly without consent from all participants.
  • Recording Consent: Recording of sessions (audio or video) requires explicit consent from all participants.
  • Promotional Use: Neither party may use the other's name, likeness, or the session content for promotional purposes without prior written consent.

6. Dispute Resolution

  • Good Faith Negotiations: In the event of any disputes regarding session content, credits, or rights, participants agree to first attempt resolution through good faith negotiations.
  • Documentation: Participants are encouraged to document any agreements, contributions, and creative decisions made during sessions.

Important Notice: These terms are designed to protect all participants and ensure fair collaboration. We strongly recommend that participants discuss expectations and agreements before beginning a session.
